Every year more than 100,000 people walk through our doors seeking compassionate care. Many of those patients are among the poorest and most vulnerable in our community.
St Vincent’s has long been renowned for the exceptionally compassionate care we show all of our patients. Across St Vincent’s there are countless stories of our staff quietly going above and beyond their professional duties in their care for our patients. We know that healthcare is about more than treating symptoms, and we want to make sure our staff always have the support they need to make a difference in our patients’ lives.
That’s why we set up the Good Samaritan Fund.
The Good Samaritan Fund was established to help our most disadvantaged patients. The Fund is available to staff to help patients who are facing hardship, assist victims of family violence, aid ongoing medical costs and provide additional support when all other avenues have failed.
To date, the Fund has given over $77,000 in support – providing goods, services, gift vouchers and clothing; all thanks to our kind and caring Good Samaritans.
You too can help people in need of extra care and assistance by donating to the Good Samaritan Fund. Please visit our website www.stvfoundation.org.au/goodsamaritanfund or call St Vincent’s Foundation on (03) 9231 3365.
