Boosting the education of our physiotherapy practitioners and students of physiotherapy

Chris Frith from our Physiotherapy Department has been awarded a grant from the Pat Cosh Trust Fund to conduct her research titled “Improving clinician-educators’ performance by addressing their beliefs about teaching”.

Chris is a senior physiotherapist who has been involved in clinical supervision of physiotherapy students for 30 years.

She is passionate about improving students’ hospital placement experience in their final years of study.

This research, as part of her Masters in Research, aims to collect data regarding clinical educator’s ideas and beliefs about student learning and how best to teach.

This will then guide the professional development of the clinical educators at St Vincent’s Physiotherapy Department tailoring it to their individual needs as identified through this research.
