St Vincent’s has a well-established Artist in Residence program that has been operating for almost 20 years offering artists a studio space for one year at Caritas Christi Hospice in Kew.
There are nine studio placements available each year with one space dedicated to Aboriginal artists.
Artists are able to use the studio for their own creative pursuits during their residency and in return donate an artwork to the St Vincent’s Hospital Art Collection.
The current exhibition looks at three of the 2014 artists, Cally Lotz, Lama Majaj and Sandra Tobias. Each of these artists work in a very different style to the other but each of them have utilised their studios in similar ways – for artistic practice, for reflection and for connection to something greater than themselves.
This exhibition is a celebration of their work and an acknowledgment to St Vincent’s support for artists through its Artist in Residence Program.
