Team Motor Mouths

The St Vincent’s Speech Pathology Department is raising funds as part of its fundraising drive for the Scrubs Run.

Imagine what it would be like if your friend or family member had a stroke and was unable to communicate in the same way. How would you know what to do? How would you know how to communicate with them?

The team wants to run communication partner training programs for families and friends of people with communication difficulties that can be easily accessed – after hours or on weekends – by families and friends.

It also wants to help families and friends to feel comfortable to have a conversation – to feel able to support their friend or family member to communicate. It is important for these programs to continue to be available to family and friends when they need it – in the early days following a stroke to months and years down the track.

The more people know about St Vincent’s Scrubs Run 2015, the greater the impact, so please spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. To donate and learn more about Scrubs Run, visit: http://www.scrubsrun.com.au/
